“Shift” is part of my Unspoken collection, where I explore the expressive power of body language. In this piece, I use chiaroscuro techniques to contrast light and shadows capturing the dynamic energy of a ballet dancer in motion. Through this distinctive charcoal application, I aim to evoke the feeling of fluidity and resilience—the title Bend is a comment on learning how to move with life as it unfolds and presents challenges and obstacles. It's about finding that grace and resilience from within. When challenged by social dynamics created by trauma-ridden, dysfunctional human behaviour, (including my own) I choose to become a dancer rather than a victim. 

This work blends figurative and abstract elements, with sweeping strokes of light charcoal and fluid blurred marks creating a sense of movement and glowing form. Digitally transformed into a stunning giclee print, Sway conveys a fierce energy and an intimate portrayal of grace and strength.
